I get home from school today sit down at my computer and wait for it to boot up. While it's waiting I'm anticipating what to do in Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning today. Whether I should continue to increase my ranks or grind renown points to catch up to my Rank.
Finally after my system boots and I'm connected to my network I launch the game. There was a 154KB patch, okay nothing to major. After the first bar loads completely I get an error that states:
"The program was unable to complete the patch operation. Please try again later."
Alright nothing to sinister so I close it and let it sit for approximately twenty minutes then try again. I get the same error message. I then attempt to reboot my system and see if that helps, still I get the same error message.
Alright fine, Mythic wins. I closed down the patcher, again, and decided to boot up Guild Wars (Seeing as it has been awhile). I log into my prophecies Warrior / Monk, seeing as prophecies is the only good game ArenaNet came out with. Of course no one is on, and my guild has become barren, people only logging on to get their yearly presents.
And seeing as my system crashed awhile ago and I had to reinstall everything. The maps take approximately 20 minutes to load each one, which means that I cannot group to do anything, and it's near impossible to do anything else unless I feel like waiting awhile.
All of those issues drives Guild Wars out of my view of games to play instead of WAR. I try WAR one more time, same issue, on to another game. I'm not about to wait around for hours for the patcher to decide to magically start working again, so I decide to plug in Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion.
I must say even though the game did come out a few years ago, and I did have to start a new character. Having lost my Wood Elf who was the Listener for the Assassin's Guild and Head of the Thieves guild with a total of 3,000 + items stolen (Due to system crash). The game is still extremely enjoyable, and the graphics are still amazing (In my opinion).
I made an Imperial and spent a good twenty minutes tinkering around with the elaborate character editor, making him just perfect. I named him Ali, after Muhammad Ali seeing as I was going hand to hand combat.
Hand to Hand takes dedication, to me, trying to fight the urge to keep that large sword and shield. I still enjoyed it though, minus the fact that you cannot really block, I had a lot of fun. Running up to enemies and just started to punch them repeatedly in the face. Also what's pretty nifty about Hand to Hand combat is the fact that your punches drain your opponents fatigue. So about half way into the battle they will just fall over while you whale on them while their on the ground, they stand back up you punch them in the face a few more times, they try to swing, and they fall over again.
I played Oblivion to death for about 2 hours and then got tired of it, realizing that fists cannot do damage to ghosts and haven gotten the title of Bloodletter in the Arena.
I then decided to see if Warhammer was working yet. So I logged in, got the patcher and waited as a much larger patch, 3,000KB, started to install. That went smoothly and I was then able to enter the game and run around on my Squig Herder, bashing the stunties.
Hopefully next time I do not come across this error again.
